Hello friends, family, and everybody in between!
It is my genuine honor and pleasure to announce that I will be running the New York City Marathon as a member of Team Sharsheret! The NYC Marathon is a true bucket list item in my running journey, and I couldn't think of a better race partner than Sharsheret.
For those who don't know, Sharsheret is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and families with (or at increased genetic) risk for breast or ovarian cancer through personalized support and educational outreach. In short: Sharsheret saves lives.
As a #GirlDad, Sharsheret's mission strikes a chord. I want to do what I can to create a healthier, safer, and better world for my daughter to grow up in. Supporting organizations like Sharsheret align with my values, objectives, and overall mission: how can I inspire my daughter to be the best version of herself? The answer: setting a positive example. Though she will be just shy of 1 year old on race day, I want her to be able to look back at her Old Man and see a model for positive change. I want her to know that it is possible to redirect selfish passions into acts of selfless good.
Which brings me to the fun stuff: how you can help! As a member of Team Sharsheret, I've pledged to raise (and hopefully exceed!) funds in support of Sharsheret's breast cancer and ovarian cancer programs and services. This is how you can join me on this journey without needing to run 26.2 miles. Any amount can make a world of difference in creating a better tomorrow for women in need.
