Dear Friends and Family,
I am so excited to share with you that I am an official member of Team Sharsheret for the 2025 TCS NYC Marathon .
I have already begun to train for my race, and I am inspired to undertake this challenge in support of Sharsheret's mission to support women and families facing breast and ovarian cancer, as well as those who are high-risk for breast and ovarian cancer.
1 in 40 Ashkenazi Jews – men and women – carries a BRCA gene mutation, nearly 10 times the rate of the general population, making Jewish families significantly more susceptible to hereditary breast cancer and ovarian cancer. As a Jewish woman, it is particularly meaningful for me to race on behalf of Sharsheret because of the culturally relevant support they provide for those touched by these devastating illnesses.
As a member of this incredible team, I have pledged to raise funds (which I hope to exceed) in support of Sharsheret's programs and services. I am asking you to please support me in my athletic and fundraising efforts as I take on this challenge. All contributions are tax-deductible and ask your employer if they will match your gift!
