Dear Friends and Family,
I am excited to share with you that I am an official member of Team Sharsheret for the 2021 Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
I was inspired to undertake this challenge after years of supporting Sharsheret, a not-for-profit organization which provides help and support for women and families faced with breast or ovarian cancer, as well as those who carry genes that make them more susceptible to cancer.
As an OB/Gyn, it is particularly meaningful for me to race on behalf of Sharsheret because of the support they have provided for patients (and friends) whose lives were touched by breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Sharsheret not only helps patients navigate the incredibly complex medical world of genetic susceptibility and cancer, it also provides emotional support to patients and their families. When Sharsheret was in need of runners, I felt I could train for this in support both of the organization and the thousands of people it helps.
As a member of this incredible team, I have pledged to raise funds in support of Sharsheret's breast cancer and ovarian cancer programs and services. I am asking you to please support me in my athletic and fundraising efforts as I take on this challenge. I look forward to (hopefully!) crossing the finish line with the same grace and determination I have seen my patients exhibit when faced with the news of cancer and all that follows.
