D Rings It Forward

On January 20, 2026, at 30 years old, my life changed when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and learned that I carry a BRCA2 gene mutation. This year has been filled with experiences I never imagined facing at this age, including a bilateral mastectomy, chemotherapy, countless appointments, and learning what it means to carry a hereditary cancer gene moving forward.

Throughout my chemotherapy journey, I have been incredibly fortunate to have Sharsheret in my corner. They provided continuous emotional support, along with resources that helped me navigate the emotional and physical changes that come with cancer treatment.

Through Sharsheret’s Best Face Forward 2.0 program, I received financial assistance toward cold capping to help preserve as much of my hair as possible, as well as a beautiful new wig that helped me feel like myself on the days I didn’t. These may seem like small things in the midst of cancer treatment, but being able to hold onto pieces of yourself during a time when so much of your identity can feel like it’s being taken from you means more than I can put into words.

I’m raising funds for Sharsheret so they can continue providing this same support to women and families facing breast cancer. Sharsheret showed up for me when I needed them most, and now I have the opportunity to help make sure they can show up for someone else.
