Hello
I will be running the New York City Half Marathon on Sunday, March 15, 2026. I am running with a cousin. Our last race together was the New York Marathon. In 1991. I beat him.
We both entered the lottery for the half marathon. He got in, I did not. To motivate me, and make this race about more than just a rematch, I am getting to the starting line by running on behalf of one of the race's charity partners, Sharsharet.
Sharsheret is a nationwide organization providing critical support for women and families facing breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Sharsharet is there with them during every step of the cancer journey. Their services are free and comprehensive, covering everything from counseling and education to make up kits and toys for children. You can learn more at www.sharsheret.org.
Sharsharet is NOT some random choice to get me into the race. My mother faced breast cancer, as have numerous friends and relatives. Others have dealt with ovarian cancer. I have seen the challenges close up, and how Sharsheret has helped.
