Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you for visiting my page! I am so excited to share with you that I am an official member of Team Sharsheret for the 2023 TCS NYC Marathon.
I have already started training for my race, and I am inspired to undertake this rigorous challenge in support of Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting Jewish women and families facing breast and ovarian cancer.
Growing up, a close family friend, Karen Nomberg ע״ה, passed away after a long and hard-fought battle with breast cancer. My Aunt Julie and my Aunt Jean have also overcome their own personal breast cancer battles. They are all strong Jewish women who have played influential roles in my upbringing, and I would not be who I am today without them. I am excited to join Team Sharsheret to show my support for these and all other women fighting breast cancer, and to continue playing my part in increasing awareness and supporting research efforts to find a cure.
I earned my Master of Science in Genetics, I have worked in medical research, and I will soon be entering the field of healthcare consulting. Thanks to my education and experience in the healthcare field, I have a keen awareness of the importance of regular screenings and conversations concerning high-risk genetic disorders like BRCA. I have seen first-hand how organizations like Sharsheret play a crucial role in furthering pivotal community awareness.
As a member of this incredible team, I have pledged to raise funds (which I hope to greatly exceed!) in support of Sharsheret's breast and ovarian cancer programs and services. I am asking you to please support me in my athletic and fundraising efforts as I take on this challenge. Ask for corporate matching for your gift too! All contributions are tax-deductible.
