Dear Friends and Family ,
I am excited to share with you that I am an official member of Team Sharsheret for the 2026 United Airlines NYC Half!
This hasn't been an easy winter to train for a half marathon, but in a few short weeks I'll be hitting the streets of New York City to run 13.1 miles in support of Team Sharsheret. As you know if you're here, Sharsheret is an amazing not-for-profit that supports women and families, nationwide, at high risk and facing breast and ovarian cancer at every stage – before, during, and after diagnosis. I’m writing to ask that you join me – not in running a half marathon, but in providing meaningful financial support for this great organization.
Throughout the year, Sharsheret provides emotional support, counseling, advocacy and financial assistance to more than 250,000 men, women, families, health care professionals, community leaders and students. The Hebrew word “Sharsheret” means chain, symbolizing the links of nurturing and support that it forges among those facing breast and ovarian cancer (while much of Sharsheret’s clientele is Jewish, it is open to all).
Sharsheret is a particularly important cause for me. The organization was founded by a law school classmate of mine, Rochelle Shoretz, whose energy and initiative were inspiring at every step of her own journey. And of course, breast cancer has touched the lives of many people close to me. Sharsheret is always there – with peer counseling, with information, with connections, and fundamentally with support.
As a member of this incredible Team, I have pledged to raise funds (which I hope to greatly exceed!) in support of Sharsheret's breast cancer and ovarian cancer programs and services.
I am asking you to please support me in my athletic and fundraising efforts as I take on this challenge. Ask for corporate matching for your gift too! All contributions are tax-deductible.
Thank you all so much, in advance, for your support!
Jed
