I'm proud to share that I will be running the 2026 TCS NYC Marathon with Team Sharsheret, the only national organization supporting Jewish women and families facing breast and ovarian cancer--those living with, or at increased genetic risk (like me, with a BRCA1 mutation).
Sharsheret is the Hebrew word for "chain." Throughout my own journey navigating life with the BRCA gene over the past 9+ years, every conversation and connection formed has become a link in my larger chain of community and support systems, serving as a constant reminder that we're not navigating this road alone.
I had the honor to run my first ever marathon with Sharsheret in 2024. Since then, I've completed a round of egg freezing to expand my family planning options, and have undergone a prophylactic double mastectomy and reconstruction to greatly reduce my lifetime risk of a diagnosis. Sharsheret has encouraged me to keep sharing my story to to uplift and empower others up against similar odds every step of the way.
I am incredibly grateful to once again fundraise for an organization that continues to be there for me and so many others.
I'll be documenting my training on Instagram @diaryofarunnergirl. See you on Sunday, November 1st 🤍
