Dear Friends and Family ,
I am so so so excited to share with you that I am an official member of Team Sharsheret for the 2024 Chicago Marathon.
Sharsheret is a national not-for-profit organization supporting women and families, at high risk and those facing breast and ovarian cancer at every stage-before, during, and after diagnosis. As you may know, my mother Linda battled ovarian cancer before she passed away in 2021. She was one of the toughest people I’ve known and fundraising and training for a marathon are one small way I will honor her memory.
It is particularly meaningful for me to race on behalf of Sharsheret because of the support they have provided for those affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Sharsheret provides vital, culturally relevant support that so many are seeking. As I’ve heard about the wonderful resource Shasheret is for thousands of people locally and nationally, I wondered how I could do more to help them in their mission. By taking on this personal challenge and joining with the other members of Team Sharsheret I hope to make an impact so that other families won’t have to experience the grief ours has.
As a member of this incredible Team, I have pledged to raise funds in support of Sharsheret's breast and ovarian cancer programs and services. I am asking you to please support me in my athletic and fundraising efforts as I take on this challenge. Ask your employer if corporate matching is available for your gift too!
