Lance runs with Team Sharsheret

Dear Friends and Family, 

I’m beyond excited to share that I’m officially a member of Team Sharsheret for the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon!

My training is already underway for the 2026 NYC Marathon, and I am inspired to take on the challenge in support of Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization that provides critical support to women and families facing breast and ovarian cancer at every stage: before, during, and after diagnosis. 

It is especially meaningful for me to run on behalf of Sharsheret because I am doing so in loving memory of my grandmother, Linda, who battled both breast and ovarian cancer. Sadly, I never had the chance to meet her, as she lost her battle to these devastating diseases before I was even born, but her courage has always felt very close to my heart. I often wonder how her experience might have been different if Sharsheret had existed then; if she had been surrounded by a community, provided with education, and supported by the kind of compassion that helps patients and families feel more empowered all together.

In a twist that feels far too meaningful to be a coincidence, the marathon falls on November 1st; the 28-year anniversary of my grandmother's passing. On a day that has always carried a quiet weight in my family, I’ll be running through the streets of New York City with my grandma Linda in my heart. Every mile will be for her, and all women facing breast and ovarian cancer diagnoses.

As a part of this amazing Team, I have committed to raising $6,000 (a goal I truly hope to surpass) to support their incredible programs and services. I would be so grateful for your support as I lace up my sneakers and take on this bucket-list challenge in honor of a cause that means so much to me. Training for the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon will challenge me in ways I’ve never experienced, but it doesn’t compare to the battles fought every single day by those facing breast and ovarian cancer diagnoses.
