Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
I’m honored to share that I’ll be running the 2026 Miami Half Marathon as a proud member of Team Sharsheret for the second time since being diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2024.
Last year, just one year after hearing the words no one ever wants to hear, I crossed the finish line of the Miami Half Marathon. I ran every step with my incredible friend and breast surgeon, Dr. Starr Mautner, and Dr. Kate Lampen-Sachar, one of my breast radiologists. It was one of the most emotional and powerful moments of my life. It was a reminder of how far I had come, and a celebration of the women who quite literally helped save my life.
This past year has been one of healing, rebuilding, and rediscovery. I’ve undergone five surgeries, completed my first Zometa infusion (with five more to go), and started long-term endocrine therapy—nine and a half more years of letrozole, and about to begin three years of Kisquali. The truth is, breast cancer doesn’t end when treatment ends. It is a marathon of its own. A diagnosis changes everything in a second, and the road is long. But through it all, I’ve held onto one promise: I will keep moving forward.
I am finally starting to live what feels like a more “normal” life again—one rooted in health, strength, movement, and gratitude. I’ve never felt more committed to taking care of myself, challenging myself, and continuing to show up—for me, for my family, and for this incredible community. I am proud of the woman I am today: resilient, focused, and still fighting, but thriving.
This race is deeply personal. I’m running not just for myself, but for every woman who has been diagnosed, every survivor navigating their new normal, and every life lost too soon. I run for the sisterhood of strength I’ve found in the breast cancer community, especially through my “Breasties.” I run in honor of what we endure, how we heal, and how we rise.
Sharsheret has been a part of my journey from the beginning. Their support, resources, and community have helped me and so many others feel less alone in one of the hardest chapters of our lives. By running and fundraising, I hope to pay that support forward.
Your support through donating, sharing this page, encouragement, or simply cheering me on, means more than words can say. Every step I take in this race is a step with purpose, with gratitude, and with hope. Together, we’re helping ensure no woman has to face this alone.
With love, strength, and so much appreciation,
Lindsey
