I am beyond excited to share with you that I am an official member of Team Sharsheret for the 2023 TCS NYC Marathon!
I am running this year's NYC Marathon in memory of my father, Stuart Kirshenbaum. A former high school and college track star, once known as "the fastest Jewish boy in New York" and later a multi-marathoner, running was one of the many things my dad loved before his MS diagnosis. This year will mark 10 years since we lost him and I can think of no better way to honor his memory than to run a race he loved and raise awareness and funds to for such a worthy cause.
Sharsheret is a national not-for-profit organization supporting women and families, at high risk and those facing breast and ovarian cancer at every stage-before, during, and after diagnosis.
It is particularly meaningful for me to race on behalf of Sharsheret because of the support they have provided for friends who were touched by breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Sharsheret was the only organization that provided the vital culturally relevant support they were desperately seeking.
As a member of this incredible Team, I have pledged to raise funds (which I hope to greatly exceed!) in support of Sharsheret's breast cancer and ovarian cancer programs and services. I am asking you to please support me in my athletic and fundraising efforts as I take on this challenge, ask for corporate matching for your gift too! All contributions are tax-deductible.
