I am super excited to be running the 2022 TCS NYC Marathon as part of Team Sharsheret.
This is a race that I was signed up to do in November 2020 as an appreciation to Sharsheret for their unwavering support of my mother when she fought and recovered from ovarian cancer in 2009. Sharsheret was there for her every step of the way. And since both of my parents are from NY and I went to college there, I've always had a love for NYC. So I couldn't think of a better way to combine my passion for running, my love of NYC, and my appreciation for everything Sharsheret does than running the NYC marathon in support of Sharsheret.
Luckily the 2020 TCS NYC Marathon was cancelled because of Covid since I wouldn't have been able to participate anyway. I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in April 2020 and was deep in chemo treatments and surgery for the bulk of 2020. I am, thank God, on the other side of my cancer and am ready to gear up for my 7th marathon - but my first outside of Israel, where I live with my husband and 4 beautiful children.
