In February of 2024, Carrie Youngs, our incredible Director of Camp Nah-Jee-Wah, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. The news shook our entire camp community - from colleagues, to seasonal staff, to camp families and alumni, Carrie's 25+ year tenure has had a profound impact on thousands of Jewish lives.
Despite her diagnosis, Carrie has worked tirelessly, leading Camp Nah-Jee-Wah to new heights, supporting her three young kids (four if you include her husband), and spreading her can-do attitude to everyone she comes in contact with.
Given the sense of joy and community she's cultivated and rallied for years, it's now time for us to rally around her. We at Camp Nah-Jee-Wah, leaning into our sense of Joyful Judaism, will be hosting our 4th Annual Challah Bake, this year, honoring Carrie and Breast Cancer Awareness with a pink theme.
