The Pacing Previvor - 26.2mi for HBOC

I am beyond excited to share that I have joined Team Sharsheret and will be running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon on November 1st, 2026!

As a BRCA1 previvor and practicing cancer genetic counselor, it is truly an honor to race for an organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing hereditary breast and ovarian cancer (HBOC).

For those who may not know, individuals who carry a BRCA1 mutation have a significantly increased risk for breast, ovarian, pancreatic, and prostate cancers. My mom has faced this harsh reality with losing her mother to ovarian cancer and later battling multiple breast cancer diagnoses herself. Her cancer history is rooted in a BRCA1 mutation that my sister, aunt, and I also carry. These experiences shape both my personal life and my professional calling, and they fuel my commitment to ensuring that individuals and families have access to accurate information, compassionate guidance, and a community that understands what they are going through. Sharsheret provides vital education, emotional support, and critical resources for the HBOC community, the very support that my sister, mom, aunt, patients, and I rely on as we navigate our hereditary cancer risk.

I am proud to dedicate every mile, every dollar raised, and yes...every shin splint, to everyone affected by HBOC.
