Twenty-five years ago, I ran my what I thought was my final marathon. I never imagined I would do it again—but some causes are worth going the distance for.
I am both excited and a little petrified to share that I have committed to running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon with Team Sharsheret.
Running in support of Sharsheret is incredibly meaningful to me. Sharsheret is a national nonprofit dedicated to providing support, education and community for Jewish women facing breast and ovarian cancer. As many of you know, supporting women affected by cancer, especially breast cancer, has been a central part of my life. I spent nearly 30 years practicing radiation oncology and caring for breast cancer patients. In addition, my family experienced the devastating loss of my sister-in-law, Felicia, to breast cancer at a tragically young age.
Because of these experiences, I care deeply about ensuring that cancer patients receive the support they need. I have also seen firsthand how impactful Sharsheret’s programs are—several of my friends have personally benefited from the care and connections they provide.
Getting myself across the finish line will take some serious motivation! I hope you will help inspire me on this journey by supporting this incredible organization.
To make your generosity go even further, I will personally match every donation made through my fundraising page, doubling the impact of your gift.
Thank you so much for your encouragement and support.
