Dear Family & Friends,
I'm super excited to share with you that I am an official member of Team Sharsheret for the 2021 TCS New York City Marathon!
I already started training for my big race! I am so inspired to undertake this rigorous challenge for my own personal recuperation and growth, and in support of Sharsheret: a national not-for-profit organization supporting women and families, at high risk and those facing breast and ovarian cancer at every stage-before, during, and after diagnosis.
It is particularly meaningful for me to race on behalf of Sharsheret because of the support they have provided for me throughout my breast cancer journey. Sharsheret was the first organization that I reached out to after receiving my diagnosis. They were the first organization to put me directly in touch with a super kind, sensitive and knowledgeable social worker who helped me with vital relevant support during such an unknown and complicated time. Sharsheret sent me kits full of additional resources, health and wellness assistance, a 'Busy Box' of adorable age appropriate toys for me to gift my kids as I went off to treatment. Sharsheret not only helped with the emotional aspect but they made sure to take care of the physical side in their 'Best Face Forward' program and arranged for me to have a new wig to help me feel my best during the worst.
By taking on this personal challenge and joining with the other members of Team Sharsheret I have found a way to give back.
As a member of this incredible Team, I have pledged to raise funds (which I hope to greatly exceed!) in support of Sharsheret's breast cancer and ovarian cancer programs and services. I am asking you to please support me in my athletic and fundraising efforts as I take on this challenge. All contributions are tax-deductible.
