Cancer treatments can take a lasting physical toll, impacting comfort, mobility, and daily life. This webinar will focus on common challenges faced by people during and after treatment for breast cancer and ovarian cancer including fatigue, pain, psychological challenges (like anxiety, depression, and PTSD), lymphedema, neuropathy, and pelvic floor challenges such as recurrent UTIs, urinary incontinence, urgency and frequency of urination, pain with urination, dyspareunia, vaginal atrophy, and defecatory dysfunction. City of Hope Orange County experts Dr. Seth Cohen, MD, FACS, Program Director, Reconstructive Urology and Survivorship Fellowship, and Dr. Diya Sandhu, Physiatrist, Department of Supportive Care Medicine, will explore practical, evidence-based strategies to manage these challenges and highlight how care strategies can improve physical wellbeing during and after treatment.

Speaker Bios

Seth A. Cohen, M.D., is a urologist specializing in complex reconstruction of the pelvic floor, including fistula and pelvic organ prolapse repair.  Dr. Cohen received his medical doctorate and Bachelor of Arts degrees at Northwestern University.. He completed his postgraduate training in California, including an internship in the Department of Surgery at University of California San Francisco, a residency in urology at University of California San Diego and a fellowship in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery at University of California Los Angeles.  Dr. Cohen has published in a variety of medical journals on topics, including mesh-associated complications, urinary incontinence and medical education.  He is board certified by the American Board of Urology, with additional subspecialty certification in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery.  Dr. Cohen is very involved in medical education, including being on faculty for City of Hope's Reconstructive Urology and Genitourinary Cancer Survivorship Fellowship.


Diya Sandhu, MD, Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Supportive Care Medicine, City of Hope


Dr. Diya Sandhu is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and pain management with specialized expertise in cancer rehabilitation. She has a strong clinical focus on improving function, quality of life, and emotional well-being in patients throughout their cancer journey and survivorship. With a compassionate, evidence-based approach, Dr. Sandhu is dedicated to guiding patients through the physical and psychological challenges that often persist after treatment—including fatigue, lymphedema, neuropathy, pain, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. She has a passion for holistic medicine and lifestyle medicine. She also uses interventional techniques to treat pain associated with cancer.
