Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! Sharsheret is an organization near and dear to my heart and I am so excited to be running in the NYC Marathon. I have multiple connections with this organization.
I first heard about Sharsheret during my freshman year of college. My sorority, AEPHi raised money on a yearly basis for sharsheret through philanthropic events. I always knew that this was an amazing organization, but I didn't realize I was going to eventually benefit from their resources.
I, unfortunately, lost my mother in 2007 due to pancreatic cancer. She was BRCA positive and her cancer was caused due to this genetic mutation. As an adult, I took the liberty of getting tested and have also tested positive for the BRCA gene. Sharsheret has provided me with resources on how to take care of myself and take preventative measures against my genetic mutation. Sharsheret has also provided me with mental wellness resources in order to help me live my best life possible.
