Jake Herman Chicago Marathon 2025

Dear Friends and Family,

I am incredibly excited to share with you that I will be a part of team Sharsheret for the 2025 Chicago Marathon.

Running a marathon is no small feat, but it’s nothing compared to the incredible impact we can make when we come together for a cause. I’m thrilled to be participating in this marathon as part of my fundraiser for Sharsheret, an organization that provides vital support to Jewish women facing breast cancer and ovarian cancer.

One in 40 Jews of Ashkenazi descent carries a mutation in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene, compared to 1 in 400 in the general population, that increases the likelihood of developing breast, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate, melanoma and male breast cancer. 

Sharsheret offers a network of emotional, financial, and educational resources for women, men, and their families during some of the most challenging times in their lives. Every dollar we raise helps this essential organization continue its life-changing work.

I’m asking for your support, whether it’s a small or large donation, as I take on this challenge. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. Your generosity will help Sharsheret continue to provide counseling, peer support, and resources tailored to the unique needs of women in our community. Both of my grandmothers were affected by Breast Cancer, so I plan on running to support women and men like them who can benefit from the services and opportunities that Sharsheret provides.
