Dear Friends and Family,
I am so so so excited to share with you that I am an official member of Team
Sharsheret for the 2023 TCS NYC Marathon.
I am inspired to undertake this rigorous challenge as I am doing it in support of
Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization
supporting women and families, at high risk and those
facing breast and ovarian cancer at every stage-before,
during, and after diagnosis.
It is particularly meaningful for me to race on behalf of Sharsheret for several reasons. Personally, my life has been transformed by this disease. After losing my mother to breast cancer when I was a teenager, I was committed to making a difference for patients with this disease. That brought me to a career in medical oncology where my research efforts have contributed to better outcomes for women with breast cancer. In addition, I am honored to run with Sharsheret for all the support they have provided for friends who were touched by breast cancer and ovarian cancer. As I continually hear about the wonderful resource Shasheret is for many friends and thousands of others locally and nationally, I wonder
how I could do more. How can I make a difference?
By taking on this personal challenge and joining with the other members of Team Sharsheret I have found my answer.
As a member of this incredible Team, I have pledged to raise funds (which I hope to greatly exceed!) in support of Sharsheret's breast cancer and ovarian cancer programs and services.
