“Imagination is the deepest voice of the soul and can be heard clearly only through cultivation and careful attention. A relationship with our imagination is a relationship with our deepest self.” Pat Allen, Art is a Spiritual Path
Ignite your creativity and access your imagination as we explore the power of art making as a spiritual practice. Drawing on the Jewish Studio Process and mindfulness meditation, we will engage in a facilitated, intuitive use of art materials and a process of inquiry through reflective writing. Together we’ll explore the potential of this Process to:
-
Access inner wisdom and insight
-
Strengthen our capacity to process what is and imagine what might be, and
-
Help us to feel more connected and whole even in moments of transition and uncertainty.
No specific materials or experience needed, just a willingness to listen to the wisdom of your own heart. This is about process, not product and is appropriate for absolute beginners and experienced artists.
Suggested Materials: Items that you have in your home- colored pencils, markers, paints, magazines, tape/glue, etc. as well as unlined blank paper or a journal and a pencil or pen.
