Aly Book's Fundraiser 2024

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my fundraising page! I'm thrilled to share my journey with you as I prepare to run in the NYC Marathon in support of Sharsheret, an organization that holds a special place in my heart.

My connection with Sharsheret runs deep. I first encountered this incredible organization during my freshman year of college when my sorority, AEPHi, dedicated itself to raising funds through various philanthropic events. At the time, I knew Sharsheret was doing remarkable work, but little did I know how profoundly its resources would impact my own life later on.

In 2007, I tragically lost my mother to pancreatic cancer. Her battle was compounded by being BRCA positive, a genetic mutation that predisposed her to the disease. As an adult, I made the decision to undergo testing and received the same BRCA diagnosis. Sharsheret stepped in with invaluable support, equipping me with the knowledge and tools to manage my health proactively. From guidance on preventive measures to mental wellness resources, Sharsheret has been an unwavering source of assistance on my journey toward optimal well-being.

I am deeply grateful for the support Sharsheret provides to Jewish women every day.
